What’s Kora?
Kora is a community-driven safety app built in Denmark.
Share your journey with friends or send a silent SOS if something doesn’t feel right. Allies nearby are alerted — quietly, quickly, and safely.
No sirens, no panic — just people helping people.

What’s an Ally?
Allies are verified members who get notified if someone nearby needs help.
You wait a little longer to see if they got in okay. You walk your friend to the bus stop. You look out for people, even strangers.
Not for praise. Not for credit. Just because someone should.
That’s what being an Ally means.
We’re a small Copenhagen-based team on a mission to make feeling safe simple, social, and stigma-free. We’ve all had that “text me when you’re home” moment, whether we’re the ones walking alone or the ones waiting for that message to come through.
It's not a great feeling, that’s why we’re building something better.

Where we’re at
We’ve built the brand, developed a working version of the app, and are now testing and polishing it to ensure Kora works the way it should. For real people in real situations.
Your feedback will help shape what comes next.

What happens next?
We’ll review new sign-ups daily and verify each one. Once you’re confirmed, you’ll get an email with the next steps. If we can’t verify you right away, we’ll reach out to see if there’s another way to confirm your details. We really appreciate everyone who signs up, but we need to make sure we do this properly. Sign-ups will close once we reach our cap of 100 verified members.
When is the app launching?
Very soon! We’re aiming to launch later this year, so your testing and feedback are key to helping us get there faster. We’ll start in Copenhagen before expanding to other cities.
Who can sign up as an Ally?
Anyone above 18 years old. For the safety of our users, allies need to be invited and approved by our team. You’ll get notified if you are selected to become an ally.
Can I invite friends?
Yep, you can totally invite friends. Just know that if they use your name, their acceptance depends on you getting in first. So it helps to use someone who’s already made the list.
Why do I need an invitation?
We’re starting small to make sure Kora works exactly as it should. Invites help us test the app safely, gather feedback, and grow a strong community of users and Allies before opening it to everyone.
Is this only for people in Denmark?
Kind of. You can test the app from anywhere, but without Allies around, it’s not quite the real thing. Most of our in-person testing and focus groups will happen in Copenhagen.
What does testing and focus groups involve?
You’ll get early access to Kora’s beta version of the app with all the key features. Your mission is to use it, explore it, and tell us everything: bugs, frustrations, ideas, and things you’d love to see next. Once we’ve gathered enough feedback, we’ll invite small groups to join focus sessions, some at our Copenhagen office, others online. If you join us in person, expect snacks, drinks, and some early Kora merch and stickers to take home. You’ll basically be one of our first brand ambassadors.
Will I be paid or rewarded for participating?
To be honest, we haven’t fully figured this part out yet. We probably won’t be able to pay for participation, but we do want to show appreciation for your time and effort. We just haven’t decided how. Hopefully, your main motivation is helping people feel safer and knowing you’re playing a real part in that. Still, we’ll find a way to thank you properly. Who knows, maybe that idea will even come up during the focus groups.
